Scientific researcher speciailzed in the development of agricultural and environmental solutions based on the Information Technologies and Communication (ITC). His current line of research is focused on supervision and automated irrigation control by integration of soil moiture sensor data with crop and water requirement simulations. He is the Director of the Efficient Use of Water program at IRTA and AgriprecDSS.

Scientific researcher with more than 30 years experience working on irrigation management. His main research is focused on the study of plant-water relations and to the determine  crop water requirements in deficit conditions, seasonal responses to water stress and the use of crop models.

Scientific researcher specialized on the use of remote sensing technologies for precision irrigation to improve irrigation efficiency and water productivity. His main line of research consists in using high-resolution thermal and multispectral imagery to estimate within-field spatial variability of water status and crop evapotranspiration.

Scientific researcher specialized on using remote sensing technologies to estimate crop evapotranspiration. In particular, Dr. Nieto has been working on the development of the Two-Source energy balance model (TSEB) to estimate crop evapotranspiration in heterogeneous crops. He is currently involved in projects regarding aircraft high reolution imagery as well as the use of Sentinel-2 data.

He is a technician at IRTA since 2007 and has been involved in different projects related with irrigation management. He is specialist on the instalation of soil water moisture sensors, water meters, physiological measurements and on the use of neutron probe. In addition, he has a long experience on planning and developing electrical instalations in order to set-up and monitor irrigation experimental studies.

She is currently doing her PhD thesis on the study of key physiological processes of Chardonnay grapevine. She is a modeler and uses phenological and physiological models to determine vine phenological stages and water requirements in front of a changing climate.

He is currently doing his PhD thesis on the use of artificial intelligence algorithms for  scheduling drip irrigation automatically. He is also modeling soil water fluxes using the software Hydrus.

He is currently doing his PhD thesis at the Efficient Use of Water program about estimates of crop evapotranspiration and water status in almond and apple trees using remote sensing technologies. In particular, he uses the TSEB energy balance model to estimate ET at different spatial resolutions and combine fusion techniques with both multisppectral and thermal imagery. Validations are conducted with Eddy-Covariance, Surface Renewal and soil water balance models.
